The Computer Vision Group (GVC) of the Spanish Committee of Automation (CEA) is a national leader in the promotion and dissemination of artificial vision, currently coordinated by Jaime Duque Domingo (University of Valladolid) and Pedro Javier Herrera (UNED). The group focuses its activities on core pillars such as deep learning, object recognition, and industrial inspection, always striving for technology transfer between academia and companies to drive strategic sectors like industry and healthcare.
To energize the research community, the GVC organizes annual specialized webinars and maintains an active presence at the Jornadas de Automática and the Symposium on Robotics, Bioengineering, Marine Automation, and Computer Vision. Furthermore, it fosters young talent by organizing technical competitions, such as the 1st Automation Hackathon, and recognizes academic excellence by awarding the Best Thesis Prize in the field of computer vision every two years.
